Cassie Sampson is the owner of East Village Spa. She worked in recreation therapy at various health centers for over five years before becoming a massage therapist. Cassie worked in a chiropractic clinic and at a luxury spa before opening The Loft and then East Village Spa. She prides herself in making her clients, especially those new to massage, comfortable.

Cassie likes to incorporate elements from a variety of modalities to create unique sessions for each of her clients based on their needs on any given day. In her free time, Cassie loves helping animal charities, cuddling her basset hounds, and trying (and sharing!) new vegetarian recipes with her husband, Matt.

Kelly Parker joined East Village Spa in January '08 as our full-time massage therapist and she is now our managing technician. Kelly was raised in Illinois and moved to Iowa in 2007 to attend school. She is a graduate of the Body Wisdom Massage Therapy School and her favorite treatments use hot and cold stones, deep tissue, pregnancy and relaxation massages. Kelly attended training in Barefoot Bars Deep Tissue massage in 2010.

She loves introducing her friends and family to massage. When she's not using her hands for massage, she's using them to create! Kelly loves art, music, and jewelry making. She pursued a career in massage therapy to help people heal and relax. Kelly lives with her kitten, Ollie.

Maggie McGinnis has been a licensed massage therapist since 2007 after graduating from the Body Wisdom School. She has worked at Heartland Chiropractic Clinic, The Livewell Clinic, and worked as an independent contractor with Cassie at The Loft Massage. She joined East Village Spa as a full time massage therapist in June of 2010.

Maggie is training to be a childbirth educator and doula through Birthworks International and plans to complete her education by May 2011. She loves music, pets, and living in Des Moines. Maggie has been a runner up for Best Massage Therapist in Cityview's poll two years in a row!

Dan'i (Pronounced like Renae but with a "D") Scott is a graduate of the Aveda School of Esthetics. She performs body scrubs, facials, reflexology and waxing services at East Village Spa and is great at helping her clients feel at ease, especially during waxing procedures. Dan'i helped us gain recognition as "The best place for waxing" in Des Moines by Citysearch.com. Many of her clients say that her waxing services are much less painful and more relaxing than they've experienced in the past!

Feel free to contact Dan'i at the spa with your skin care concerns, she's a great listener and is eager to offer suggestions. Dan'i loves music, is passionate about the environment, and enjoys being outdoors for concerts and other activities when the weather is nice.

Melissa Palmer is a licensed nail technician who's great technical skill and upbeat personality have earned her a loyal following at the spa! She trained on the East Coast and has since transferred her license to Iowa. Melissa has also taken continuing education courses in advanced pedicure sanitation and enjoys helping her clients enjoy a relaxing service, whether they prefer to visit or relax with a good book.

Melissa is talented at crochet and cross stitch and spends her free time creating practical handmade items for her Etsy shop, YarnWeaver. The spa's shop carries beautiful bamboo pedicure socks that she has crocheted so her clients can enjoy warm feet without smudging fresh polish! Melissa is incredibly excited by our newest nail care line, Shellac (a two-week polish!) by CND and will happily discuss the possibilities with you!

Katie McGrath is a licensed esthetician and has been a cosmetologist for more than a decade. She owns Salon Revolution in the Historic East Village where she cuts, colors, and styles hair. She provides nail and waxing services at East Village Spa and will soon be adding joining Dan'i in providing skincare services! Katie loves getting to know all about her clients and they enjoy her sweet personality and infectious laugh.

Tiffany Jackson is the full-time receptionist at East Village Spa. She's happy to help you with your bookings, organizing surprises for your friends and family members, and discuss treatment options. Many of our clients enjoy visiting with Tiffany when they're early for appointments.

Tiffany is an avid reader and helps our employees stay healthy and focused by sharing her Reiki skills at the spa. She is well on her way to becoming a Reiki master.
